Spatial mobility of citizens and affordability of housing often dictates the character of cities, and the localities therein. However, in the past few decades, the availability of affordable housing in proximity of mass transit and linked to job distribution, has become severely imbalanced. One of the key challenges for a developing country like India is urban migration, which is further exacerbated by limited resources to meet increasing housing demands. Hence, many large Indian cities have devolved into an ever expanding sprawl of suburbs, exerting great pressure on transportation, sanitation and healthcare systems. RECITY endeavours to explore these gaps and provide meaningful solutions for sustainable urban growth.
